Manufacturing Futures Website to be Launched

Manufacturing Futures is a strategic initiative developed to raise the awareness amongst young people, teachers and parents of the extremely diverse and highly technical career pathways, offering both a challenging and interesting area of work, which exists within the manufacturing industry and allied trade-based businesses.

The initiative aims to develop and sustain pro-active interaction between industry and secondary schools. 

More than 30 Industry Champions from manufacturing and allied businesses in Greater Bendigo have signed up to share their knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm for their industry through involvement in career and transition programs with local secondary schools and other relevant youth training providers. 

A Manufacturing Futures online database has been developed to assist schools connect with local Industry Champions who are keen to support young people to gain a greater understanding of the world of work and career opportunities.

The launch of Manufacturing Futures website will take place on Friday, 15th August 2008.
